Welcome back for this week’s Monday Motivation! Now that we have seen a very exciting weekend in football, and the last leg of the race to the Superbowl is coming to a close, I thought it would be appropriate to provide you all with a speech from Ray Lewis, featured in Madden 13.
I’ve always been told that I’m too small.
I’m not big enough.
I’m not fast enough.
I don’t have what it takes.
To be the best and stay there?
Walter and Jerry had their heels, of never being comfortable, with just good enough.
It’s right now or never, it’s right now or never.
I prepare so no one can take what is mine, no one can replace my mind, my heart.
Lombardi inspired me, and now our biggest prize, bears his name.
Of course I’m older.
That’s the beauty of it.
16 years plus.
A different level of wisdom, a different level of understanding, a different level of punishment.
I wanna live LONG after my records have fallen, long after my rings have tarnished.
And whatever you got to do, to make sure you chase your legacy every second of your life.
Will you be remembered?
How would you be remembered?
Why wouldn’t you fight for the greatest achievement ever?
I’m sure you can relate to this. It doesn’t not matter if you are a Ravens fan, if you like Ray Lewis or not. His words in this speech are full of inspiration and should motivate you. Some of you may work really hard, then achieve your goal or make minimal progress going further and then stop. Don’t. Never be satisfied where you are in life and always work to improve yourself and the situation around you.
There will always be doubters. Ignore them. Money, fitness, intelligence, love interests, or whatever it is that motivates you… make sure you wake up in the morning, look yourself in the mirror and know being mediocre is not okay. Sweat and hard work is necessary, but it will be worth it. I promise you that. Now go out there and get what you deserve today.
